The Massachusetts
Enhanced Emissions Safety Test has been in effect since October 1999 for all
motor vehicles registered in the Commonwealth, including buses and trucks.
The test for vehicles under 10,000 lbs. is approx. 20 minutes over 10,000
lbs. 1 hour
$29 Fee vehicles under 10,000 lbs. / $94 Fee commercial vehicles over 10,000
lbs.
A - Gasoline powered vehicles weighing less than 10,001 pounds (e.g. cars,
pick-up trucks, and sport utility vehicles)
B - Diesel powered vehicles weighing less than
10,001 pounds ( Pick-ups, SUV’s)
C - Gasoline powered vehicles weighing 10,001 pounds or more, but less than
26,000 pounds
D - Diesel powered vehicles weighing 10,001 pounds
or more, but less than 26,000 pounds
E - Diesel powered vehicles 26,000 lbs. and above.
F - Gasoline powered vehicles 26,000 lbs. and
aboe.
